Quality and Governance in Higher Education Institutions20-12-2022


Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) conducted a Workshop on the topic ???Quality and Governance in Higher Education Institutions??? on December 19th, 2022 i-e Monday in the Video Conference Room of GCWUF. Dr. Aasma Khalid, Director QEC GCWUF, started the session formally. All the Heads of the Teaching Departments and Programme Team Members of GCWUF were the participants in this very valuable workshop. Dr. Asim Mansha briefed all the participants in two sessions i.e., Quality in HEIs and Governance in HEIs respectively. He briefed that Quality is the most important part of the augmentation plan of Higher Education Institutes (HEIs). HEIs are moving ahead on the journey of tremendous progress in the higher learning sector using Human & Financial Resources to assure the quality of the increased base of higher learning programs they offered in their institute. Quality in HEIs is a dynamic process that is the outcome of the interaction among many factors e.g., Assessment, Leadership, Faculty, Students, Infrastructure, Academic Facilities, Research Facilities, Environment, Governance, and Strategic Planning. Further, he elaborated on various aspects of Governance that have become a crucial issue in HEIs. Institutions are making a major contribution to research and innovation by creating new knowledge through scientific and technological research by training skilled workers through their educational missions. He interlinked quality and governance with each other based on the following parameters: ??? Increasing Accountability ??? Tackling new challenges ??? Need for productive and wise management ??? Continuity of Policies ??? Incentive-based management The Question/Answer session was conducted after the technical sessions. The participants asked various questions regarding their issues. The guest speaker thoroughly answered all the questions and guided them in providing solutions to their challenges. At the end of the session, Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Director Academics GCWUF, thanked all the participants and appreciated the efforts of Director QEC & her team members for conducting this very knowledgeable and fruitful session.
